Come Help Nature on May 9!

Join Hay Swamp Stewards and other members of your community on Saturday, May 9, 2026, and help us plant almost 400 native trees in Hay Swamp, a provincially significant wetland complex located just outside Exeter! Species will include tulip tree, red oak, bur oak, white pine and others.

We will meet at 10:00AM on the west side of Parr Line just a bit north of MacDonald Rd. Everyone is welcome! No previous experience, knowledge, training or tools* are required to participate. Time spent planting can be put towards Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) volunteering requirements.

(* You may wish to bring your favourite pair of gardening gloves, however!)

Who are Hay Swamp Stewards?

We're a group of volunteers who meet regularily to preserve and enhance habitat in Hay Swamp by planting natives, managing invasives, cleaning up garbage, and ecological monitoring. We are supported in our activities by the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA).
